Manhattan Beach has a population of 35,135 with a population density of 8,914.7 people per square mile. It’s predominantly White, with the racial makeup of the city being: 84.5% White, .8% African American, .2% Native American, 8.6% Asian, .1% Pacific Islander, 1.2% from other races, and 4.6% from two or more races.  

99.9% of the population lives in households with only .1% living in non-institutionalized group quarters.  

There are over 14,000 households within the city limits. Of these households, 33.7% have children under the age of 18 living in them, 54% are opposite-sex married couples living together, 6.4% are female householders, 3.1% are male householders, 5% are unmarried opposite-sex married couples living together, and 0.6% are same-sex married couples or partnerships. 25.8% of the households were made up of individuals, and there are a total of 8,913 families. The average family size is 3-4 people.  

Over 67% of the housing units are owner-occupied, and 32.9% are occupied by renters.  

The median age of the residents of the city is 40.9 years, and for every 100 females, there are 100.4 males.  

According to the most recent Census, Manhattan Beach has a median household income of $139,259.
